![]() ![]() But for PVP, which is the area of EVE that szc is more specialized in, deadspace over officer any day. If you are running a mission ship, as is one of the possibilities the OP listed, then officer mods do become beneficial as you face a much lower risk of death before you make back your investment, making maximum possible effectiveness to further minimize the chance of death a viable option. Whether or not deadspace mods have a better cost/benefit ratio than the officer mods is a mute point if you believe at some point the ship will die and you want to get your maximum jollies out of it as soon as possible while still maintaining combat effectiveness, a goal which will be achieved sooner via deadspace or even just faction fittings as opposed to officer mods. There comes a time that, when for PVP, the threat of loss does not outweight the overall marginal benefits you recieve from the mods in question. They had a friendly chat about fittings, and the guy highly recommended a cap injected shield buffer tank over any kind of active tank.īy your logic, if cost is not an issue he should get an officer fit imperial issue abaddon (or was it an apocalypse?) with all the bells and whistles. My old XO convo'd the dude on the battleclinic killboards with the highest number of solo kills in a Mach (name escapes me, sorry). Most of the Mach pvp pilots I know would prefer to keep their cap and injection for propulsion. I definitely disagree about active tanking a Mach for pvp. The role of the Mach is speed + dps, so I don't see why faction gyros for a few more dps, and a faction mwd for a few more cycles of propulsion before you run out of boosters, "is totally wrong". And I guess if you want to get technical, I should have mentioned that the orbital speed + range dictation is what cuts down on incoming DPS. Well, I don't tend to cheap fit my most expensive ships I don't mind spending as much on the fitting as on the ship, because I don't tend to put them in high risk situations in the first place. Avoid the temptation to rage quit and go for the Dramiel/Cynabal/Sleipnir for your day-to-day pvp. If you pimp it, and lose it, it's gonna hurt. If you're the only the Mach in a fleet, any FC that knows their stuff will primary you. I've only pvp'd in my Mach a couple times, when I was in a gang of several Machs. ![]() It's fast as crap, falls in line with Mach's skill training path, and is quite fun. It's cheaper, and the only faction mod you need for a pro fit is the shield booster. If you're thinking about a ship for pvp, I think I would lean toward the Sleipnir. Armor tanking it is doable, but removing gyrostabs and nanos from the lows kinda defeats the point of the ship IMHO. It's damn hard to fit an active shield tank and propulsion without lots of faction. ![]() ![]() If you warped in on the target within scramble range, you're doing it wrong.įor PVE, you need ALOT of faction mods. The point is to orbit way to fast for anything but some missiles to hit you. The proper fit is 2 nanos, faction gyros, a buffer shield tank, cap injection, and shield extender rigs. For pvp, you need some Caldari Navy Invulns and a Gist MWD. The Mach really requires decent faction gear to fly correctly. I build Sleipnirs and I'm training on my main to fly it. ![]()
